Red Earth Engineering is Now Part of Geosyntec Consultants

In 2023, Red Earth Engineering (REE) joined Geosyntec Consultants. REE now operates under the Geosyntec name. The collaboration brings together REE’s specialist expertise in mine tailings, water dams, and geotechnical and civil engineering with Geosyntec’s global network of more than 3,000 engineers and scientists.

Though the name has changed, the team and the way we work have not. Clients work with the same engineers they know, and we now have more than 100 mining-focused professionals across the country, backed by specialists in water management, geochemistry, environment, and closure across Australia and worldwide. The result is deeper support throughout a mine’s life cycle, from investigation and approvals through operation and closure.

Geosyntec Mine Services

Built on Red Earth. Growing as Geosyntec.

REE was established in 2009 and spent more than 15 years becoming a leading tailings dam consultant for major mining companies operating in Australia. That work built deep expertise in water balance, hydraulic, hydrologic, and dam-break modelling, as well as in civil, geotechnical, and geosynthetic engineering for projects across Australia and the Asia Pacific.

That team now works as Geosyntec. The same engineers lead the same disciplines: geotechnical engineering, civil engineering, geosynthetic engineering, tailings and water dams, project engineering, construction support, and quality assurance. More than 500 engineers, scientists, and innovators spanning mine water, geochemistry, environment, approvals, and closure sit across Australia.

“Bringing our companies together has allowed us to advance our combined practices to better meet the complex engineering and environmental challenges facing our clients across Australia.”
