Outcome
The landfill redevelopment team at JBS&G, a Geosyntec Company, has brought together landfill, geotechnical, and stormwater engineers alongside ecologists and leachate specialists to remediate areas at a complex former industrial site. Hazardous ground gas (HGG)-generating areas across the site were remediated using a combination of active and passive HGG management, along with perimeter interception systems and leachate treatment systems. A pragmatic and sensible approach to HGG risk assessment and management helped the client recognise the land value and facilitated public future use under sustainable and ecological development. The firm was engaged by Orora Group.
