Contaminated Land Management, PFAS Investigation, Management, and Remediation
Outcome
We were engaged as the Lead Consultant to assess the nature and extent of PFAS impacts related to the historical use of fluorinated firefighting foams across three areas of the base comprising the Bandiana Military Area. The base and broader Management Area encompass 1,150 hectares and include portions of the broader Wodonga residential area. Works have included targeted source area investigations and a mass flux assessment to comprehensively understand PFAS migratory pathways throughout on base and off base areas. This information has led to the development of a remediation strategy for the base, documented in a Remedial Options Assessment, Remediation Action Plan, and Off-Base Remediation Review. More recent works have included supporting remediation planning, and with soil, infrastructure, and groundwater remediation to commence in Q3 2026.
