Outcome
JBS&G, a Geosyntec Company, was engaged to undertake a detailed site historical review and develop a conceptual site model (CSM) to conduct a quantitative assessment of asbestos in soil at a former industrial facility impacted with asbestos. The investigations involved a gravimetric assessment of the nature and form of asbestos in soil in accordance with relevant work and health safety requirements, leading to the development of appropriate management protocols, including a well-documented asbestos register and ongoing asbestos management plan to enable the continued use and occupation of the facility. The works were conducted under scrutiny of the relevant regulatory bodies, and the firm’s experienced team of occupational hygienists was able to satisfy stakeholder concerns. Â
