Andries Venter

Andries Venter is a Principal Tailings Engineer based in Perth, Western Australia, with more than 30 years of experience focusing on managing, designing, and constructing tailings storage facilities.

Clients turn to Andries to manage and support a wide range of tailings projects throughout the project life cycle, including feasibility studies, construction, commissioning, operation, and closure.  He also offers extensive experience in the operations of tailings storage facilities and expertise in numerous audits following local regulatory guidelines. He brings specialized experience in hydraulically placed tailings using open ends, spigots, cyclones, and dry stacking, including designing and operational managing of tailings reclamation projects.

Andries has experience supporting tailings and mining projects in many countries, including Australia, Tanzania, Mozambique, South Africa, Botswana, Malawi, and Namibia, and he is the Engineer of Record for major mine sites and tailings storage facilities.

He is a Chartered Engineering Technologist in Australia, an Institution of Engineers Australia member, and a Project Management Professional with the Project Management Institute (USA).
